The Doctors
Dr. Jamie Merrigan – Owner, Veterinarian
A graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (2006), Dr. Merrigan brings nearly 20 years of experience in general practice, emergency medicine, and surgery. After initially joining Ravenwood as a relief vet in 2013, she became a full-time team member in 2018 and the clinic’s owner in 2020. She is committed to keeping Ravenwood locally owned and community-focused. Her clinical interests include complex medical cases and surgical care. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys trail running, horseback riding, cooking, and exploring the Alaskan outdoors with her dogs.
Dr. Megan Turnquist – Veterinarian
Originally from Oregon, Dr. Turnquist moved to Alaska in 2016 and quickly made it home. She has a special interest in exotic animal medicine, especially reptiles, as well as small animal dentistry. Her diverse background and warm approach have made her a beloved member of the Ravenwood family. When not in the clinic, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping with her husband and their eclectic mix of pets.
Dr. Michelle Wetherell – Veterinarian
Born and raised in Alaska, Dr. Wetherell graduated from the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She has a special focus on soft tissue surgery and loves helping pets through procedures that improve their quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and catching up on sci-fi shows.
Dr. Brooke Wilson – Veterinarian
With a military background and degrees from Cornell University (DVM and MS), Dr. Wilson is a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (Chi Institute) and holds massage therapy certification from Equissage. Her focus includes integrative medicine, pain management, and sled dog care. She’s passionate about providing holistic, compassionate treatment and building meaningful connections with clients. She enjoys skiing, hiking, and volunteering at sled dog races.
Dr. Nicole Shardlow – Veterinarian
Originally from Sun Valley, Idaho, Dr. Nicole Shardlow is a graduate of Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her main interests include canine and feline general practice and orthopedic medicine/surgery. She is committed to clear communication, patient comfort, and long-term wellness, and she values building lasting relationships with clients based on trust and education.
Dr. Shardlow recently moved to Eagle River with her dog Hermione and her cat George. In her free time, she enjoys reading, oil painting, hiking, and skiing. She is excited to explore all that Alaska has to offer.
